From The Magazine of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center Collection, #4730, Rush University Medical Center Archives, Chicago, Ill. See webpage for more information: [ http://rushu.libguides.com/rusharchives ] In 1969, Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center (RPSLMC) was created from the merger of the re-established Rush Medical College (which had closed in 1942) and Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Hospital. Rush University was established in 1972. Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center changed its name to Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) in 2003. The Magazine, 1975-1993, of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center was a continuation of the Bulletin of the Alumni Association of Rush Medical College. Aside from including information on the Alumni Association, the Magazine was the reimagined continuation of the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Newsletter (#4715), which ran from 1956 to 1974. The Magazine incorporated the Bulletin of the Alumni Association of Rush Medical College, including alumni class notes, until about 1980. A Record, the newsletter of the Alumni Association of Rush Medical College separate from The Magazine, began in 1980. The Magazine was published annually or biannually. The Magazine includes articles on research at Rush, news from various departments, and pictures and speeches from Rush University's commencements. Three issues, 1986 to 1988, contain issues of Insights into Clinical and Scientific Progress in Medicine. Insights was published separately from 1977 to 1994.
